I use both traditional and contemporary
methods of woodworking, joinery and finishing. All clocks have glass protecting
the face, a finished interior, and a removable door covering the back.
The faces are designed using original fonts from the early 1900's. I print
them with a silkscreen process using special textured embossing inks, and
treated with antiquing glazes. The modern wood finishes are light-fast
and durable. They are then treated with a hand-rubbed dark antiquing wax
to give a truly "aged
look." All clocks are then signed, dated, numbered and cataloged.
Every detail from hand selecting the rough lumber to the finish waxing is
done by me personally. I intend to keep my business small so I can be responsible
for every step of building a clock for you. This is the best way to provide
you with a quality product and lasting piece of craftsmanship.
All Present Time clocks are custom made to order. There are over 380 possible
combinations of woods, finishes, faces and sizes within these models.
